2009 REUNION - SEATTLE - JULY 23 - 26, 2009
Our
2009 Reunion was in Seattle, Washington and the Airport Marriott. Though
with the economy our attendance was slightly down this year, we still
had a good turn out and a good number of last minute additions. The
reunion was certainly fun and a success. This was our fifth reunion,
marking over a decade of reunions and efforts on our part and we hope to
be doing this for many decades to come!
We had our usual Thursday Reception to say hello to
the early arrivals, On Friday we took the bus and ferry to
Bremerton to see the USS TURNER JOY, of
Vietnam fame and now a museum ship! After
we enjoyed cocktails and supper.
Saturday was our big day with the Seattle City Tour
with stops at the Space Needle
and Pike Place Market. This was followed by
our Business Meeting and then again cocktails
and the banquet.
Sunday we all said farewell after breakfast at the hotel
and closing ceremonies.
Thank you to RADM Webster and Gunner Evans for
addressing the crowd on Saturday, to Steve Joyce and Mark Prevoznik for
handling the closing ceremony and to RJ Lundgren for his help with the
National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance. Also thank you to Fred Copland
for a wonderful metal anchor wall hanging that was used on the front of
the podium!
Pictures from the event are here:
Thank you everyone who came and took part in the event as
well as planning for our next, St. Louis, Missouri in 2011!
