Happy Holidays to all of you in the ENGLAND
family! We are all very much blessed to have each other and all of the great
memories ENGLAND has given us, then through to now. As we move into 2009 we have
much to which to look forward, most important of those is our reunion. But, also
we have Project Help A Shipmate and the Navy Memorial Plaque Project, one
shows our team work and devotion to each other and the other of dedication to
the preservation of our history. Of course the best thing about all of this is
all of you! Thank you for the support over the years. Please have a wonderful
holiday season and the best in 2009!
2009 Reunion Dates
has been reported previously, our next reunion will be in Seattle
and we now have the dates! The Seattle reunion at the Seattle Airport Marriott
during the period of July 23-26, 2009. As usual there will be tours on Friday
and Saturday, a welcome reception on Thursday, a fun dinner on Friday and a more
formal affair on Saturday evening. Costs should be more or less consistent with
past reunions and more details will come soon. We'll also need volunteers to
assist with the reunion, address the attendees on Saturday evening and give the
invocation. It you would like to help, please contact Dennis (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Please make you plans now to attend this
reunion and to help plan for the next. Your shipmates are counting on seeing you
there and it won't be a reunion without you! Pleas we are going to have a lot of
fun! More and more details will be added to the Reunion 2009 page as they become
At our 2007 Reunion our shipmate John Yancy initiated an effort
to help and at the business meeting his plan was approved unanimously approved
by the team! Our goal is to bring an England shipmate to the reunion in Seattle,
and possibly future reunions for others that have been unable to attend a
reunion because they are not as fortunate as we are to have the resources we
have available to us. Your donations to this fund will hopefully fulfill an
England shipmate's dream come true, to be reunited with shipmates again.
Do you know of someone who could be helped
by this project? Someone who would not be able to come to our reunion due to
hardship but really should be with us? Please let John know. His contact
information is available here.
Also, please donate today! It is easy via Pay Pal. We
now need some help in identifying shipmates to bring to the reunion. If you know
of a candidate, please contact John.
